Through taste, touch, sight, smell and discussion you will explore the fascinating microbiological processes that turn simple ingredients (flour, water, salt) into delicious and nutritious breads.

This workshop is all about SOURDOUGH BREAD. You will eat, talk and make naturally-risen breads using a wild sourdough culture and learn how to control, feed and proliferate our cultures and use them for more.

Alexis shared her invaluable baking and fermenting wisdom over three precious hours. She guided us in the basics of making bread and gifted us with sourdough to take home including instructions on how to take care of it. I have since baked my own healthy, sourdough bread at least once a week and its always been a success and great hit among my friends. Alexis' course truly opened the doors for me to the wonders of bacteria and food fermenting and made me question the industrial food market, why buy unhealthy trash from the supermarket when I could be making nutritious dishes from basic ingredients I already have! I cannot wait for my next course.

The sourdough workshop with Alexis was a real pleasure.In a very informative, funny and interactive way we learned a lot about basic principles of fermentation, yeasts, bacterias; some useful hints and fun facts. We made our own dough to bake at home and took a jar of the sweet 154-year old cornelius back home. I would highly recommend it!

unglaublich interessant! Man geht nicht nur mit Cornelius dem Sauerteigstarter nach Hause sondern auch einem Brotteig. Alexis und Jonas wissen unglaublich viel über fermentieren und es hat total viel Spaß gemacht zuzuhören, zwischendurch Miso Butter, frisches Brot und Kimchi zu probieren und dann selber einen Teig ansetzen zu können. Ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen, der Lust auf selbstgebackenes Brot hat.

Es war super interessant! Man konnte viel ausprobieren, selber machen und viele Fragen stellen. Ich hab viel gelernt, was ich zuhause anwenden werde. Es war ein schönes Erlebnis!
