Rugburn Studio emphasizes using different types of tufting guns so that you leave with a rug made with unique dimensions and textures.
This beginner-friendly workshop offers three types of machines: tall fluffy stitches, lower punch needle stitches, and funky bigger loops- any combination, all together in one rug!
Don’t know the difference yet? No problem! We start the workshop with a test run, so you get to learn each machine and develop your design based on your own personal preferences :-) No previous experience is required!
You will leave this workshop with confidence in operating the three types of machines, enough knowledge to create rugs independently, and experience to take an advanced tufting workshop.
You can choose to come with an exact design or with images, shapes or moods that inspire you- or no ideas at all! We will work in a casually structured environment so you are free to experiment and build your rug as you go.
Depending on timing, we can also trim, shave, and carve your rug. Please note: if you want to spend time carving with the electric shaver, come with a simpler design with a few blocks of color, as carving often takes as long as tufting. I am always available by email for design questions and advice :-)
The workshop is taught in English but assistance in German can be given when needed.
