In this workshop you will learn the fundamental techniques of tufting with a machine gun to create a rug or wall hanging up to 40cm x 80cm. Participants will be encouraged to experiment with three different guns, each with a unique pile height, to create depth and a variety of textures.
You can either arrive with an idea of what you would like to create, an item or idea that inspires you, or organically create your design as you tuft. For the single day medium rug class, designs should be relatively simple (a few blocks of color, no small outlines) as details take considerably more time. In our last hour of class, you will learn the glueing backing process and take home your completed rug at the end of the day.
