Welcome to Open Studio Sessions at RugBurn! This is unstructured studio time where you are free to create your own tufted pieces. I will be present for any technical issues that arise but this is otherwise independent working time.
In order to sign up for an open studio session, you must have already taken one of my other tufting courses. This could be either the single day beginner class or the two day intensive class. You will have access to all types of guns, shears and tools used in the class and need to be comfortable operating them.
This starting price includes:
Three hours of studio time with access to all equipment, from the three guns you used in class to the electric shears for carving
Monks cloth already stretched onto your chosen frame (either the small 40cm or large 80cm)
Industrial grade glue
Felt for backing
Open Sessions does NOT include yarn, you will need to select and bring in your own yarn for your project. You will also be backing your own rugs, you can either choose to back at the studio or take home an unbacked rug to complete on your own. I am more than happy to provide yarn suggestions as well as backing instructions when the time comes :)
Additional time past your first three hours is 10€/ hour, payable by cash or IBAN at the end of your session. My schedule is generally flexible should you need more time. Approximate time needed is 3 hours for the small frame and 8 hours for the large frame, of course varying depending on complexity of your design.
Sessions will be capped at two people to ensure access to all tools.
