Sourdough Workshop and Tasting

This workshop is designed for anyone who’s curious about sourdough but unsure how to fit it into everyday life. Whether you're juggling work, studies, or simply a packed schedule, you’ll learn how to bake delicious and healthy sourdough bread without needing to plan your whole week around it.

Over the course of a three hours long, relaxed and hands-on session, we’ll discuss the entire sourdough process - from feeding the starter to baking. You'll mix your own dough, learn stretching techniques and shape it by yourself. You’ll get a feel for the dough, learn what really matters (and what doesn’t). You'll take your dough home and bake it the next day.

To make things even more enjoyable, the workshop starts with a sourdough tasting. We’ll enjoy a variety of freshly baked sourdough breads, focaccia and crackers, paired with amazing cheese and olive oil - so come hungry!

At the end of the session, you’ll head home with your own starter, a step-by-step guide to help you keep going, and the confidence to bake your first loaf on your own. I'll provide you with a print-out and a pdf of a guide with all the information we've covered at the workshop and add you to a WhatsApp group with other workshop participants to provide support as you continue your sourdough journey at home.

Whether you're completely new to baking or just looking to finally make sourdough work for you, this workshop is all about making it simple and fun!

Hi, I'm Anastasia—an engineering student and a passionate foodie, originally from Moldova, based in Berlin. Like many others, I first tried baking sourdough during the first COVID lockdown… and I failed miserably. Three years later, I gave it another shot and once I understood a few key principles, I realized sourdough isn’t as complicated as it seems. I started baking regularly, balancing a job, studies and baking, and soon I was sharing my bread—and my knowledge—with friends, family, and colleagues.

Now I run Loaf Lab, where I teach fellow Berliners how to fit sourdough into their busy lives. My workshops are hands-on and designed to make sourdough approachable—even for complete beginners. And because my Moldovan heart loves hosting and feeding people, every session starts with a sourdough bread tasting, accompanied by a delicious charcuterie board.

What began as a personal challenge has become one of my favorite ways to connect with others. I truly believe anyone can bake sourdough—with the right guidance, a bit of patience, and some good food to keep the motivation going. I can’t wait to welcome you to the table, share what I’ve learned, and show you that you can bake nourishing sourdough bread for yourself and your loved ones—no matter how busy life gets.
