Devorah and Susannah are you two host for this workshop.

Devorah is a freelance illustrator based in Berlin. Having completed a MA in Children’s Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art the focus of her work is to bring to light human sensibility through imagery and design. Her love for the tactile, texture, colour and form, drives her to work within the screen-printing medium, or with layered painting, pencils and pastel. For Devorah, connection is an important element within her illustration work, as is sharing and learning from each other. This led her to organise a range of workshops for children and adults, and to build her skills and knowledge to provide a memorable experience for the participant. She wishes to engage creatively with the artist to bring out the feeling of self reward and joy within an inspiring and empowering atmosphere.

Susannah is a practicing illustrator and artist. She has degrees in Fine Art and Illustration, and studied and lived in Melbourne, Australia, and then Moscow, Russia, before moving to Berlin, where she now also co-organises “Sunday Sketching Berlin.” She has taught illustration and sketching for children and adults at a wide range of levels. In her own creative practice she creates editorial illustration, book illustration, posters, zines, animation and much more. She has a strong focus on handmade work that employs a wide range of materials, and rhythm and texture are always key aspects.
