Learn basics of building a hard-cover book, but with a simple exterior binding that is adjustable and lays flat when open.
In this workshop you’ll also discover why Bookbinders around the world love using Japanese paper to cover books. You'll cut your pages using traditional paper-cutting knives and then "case" them in boards covered in Chiyogami.
You can choose a beautifully hand-printed sheet of Chiyogami paper to use for your cover and another dyed sheet of Washi (aka Japanese Paper) for the inside. I'll teach you to cover the corners and make the perfect case for your notebook pages.
We'll then stitch the pages in using an alternative take on the pamphlet stitch enabling your new little book to open flat.
All tools and materials will be provided.
