Design and make your own silver ring in this hands-on workshop!
What we will do?
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of the lost wax carving technique, and use this knowledge to design and make a ring from wax. Wax carving is like sculpture for jewelry. It is a very meditative (and fun) technique that opens the possibility to infinite shapes, textures, and experimentation.
With guidance, you will carve your unique design from wax and explore techniques for engraving or texturing the surface using the tools provided. No prior knowledge is needed. Josefina will assist you to materialize your ideas.
By the end of the workshop, you will have created a wax master which will then be sent to a local caster, where it will be cast in sterling silver.
After arriving back from the caster, Josefina will hand-finish your piece according to your specifications. Your ring will be ready for pick up 2 or 3 weeks after the workshop. Each ring comes packed in a beautiful eco-friendly recycled box.
